Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene program aims to improve the sanitation and hygiene in 30 villages of Kaimur District, Bihar. This program recognizes the sanitation need for persons with disability and marginalized girls in our target area of work under the “Swatch Bharat Abhiyan” Government of India program. Behaviour modification, awareness and trainings are also the major focus areas of the program. Village Monitoring Committees (VMC) have been formed to ensure regular use and maintenance of the toilets based on indicators.
Highlights of the Program
43 disable friendly toilets have been constructed in schools and for families
150 Below Poverty Line (BPL) households having girl children of 30 villages use hygienic and accessible sanitation facilities.
Members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSCs), SHG members, parents and field functionaries have adequate knowledge on sustainable sanitation for all.
