The main objective of this program is to reduce maternal and infant mortality rate through improved reproductive health care by creating awareness, organizing training, community mobilization through Street Plays and wall paintings.
Through SHGs, CBO, and Youth Clubs we generate a sense of oneness in them and motivate them to bring out the issues that are affecting them by encouraging them through community programs, trainings, awareness programs on education and reproductive health of adolescent girls and young women.
The exclusive SHGs, CBOs, village health sanitation committee and youth clubs in locality under the guidance of Jan Vikas Samiti is directly involved in community mobilization for safe motherhood. As a result, three years of our work in targeted area, adolescent girls and young women have reached a stage of maturity. Many of them are able to take their own decisions. The targeted population has been educated in terms of maternal and infant mortality and reproductive health.
The second phase of safe motherhood program aims to empower 8000 rural women and girls to increase access to and control over maternal health services through advocacy and monitoring using right based approaches. The program will ultimately result in;
Reducing maternal and infant mortality.
Promoting and creating awareness on sex education among adolescent girls and young women.
Ensuring health living through awareness programmes.
Ensuring good health of pregnant and lactating women.
Ensuring safe motherhood and early child care.
