We believe that India will never achieve its true growth story until the rural sector of the country is empowered to make choices and transform their own lives. With this thought, we initiated SHARE (Society to Heal Aid Restore Educate) 15 years ago. Today SHARE has metamorphosed into the Adarsh Shiksha Foundation with a mission to empower 1 million lives in 5-6 years through 360-degree development across Health, Education, Water & Sanitation and Economic Development. Our aim is to create a model for development that can be replicated at scale across India and perhaps the world.
Adarsh Shiksha Organization, an NGO for poor child education, is an NGO in India directly benefitting over 50,000 children and their families every year, through more than 100 live welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment, in over 1000 remote villages and slums across Rajasthan states of India.
Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one’s awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one’s rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen.
Creation of an equal and just society where the vulnerable and marginalized section of the society effectively participate in the social development process leading to control over their resources
To work towards the promotion of gender equity and social justice amongst the vulnerable to strengthen effective articulation of their needs and gaining access and control over their resources.
To transform one million rural lives every five years through holistic development across Health, Education, Water & Sanitation and Economic Development by creating a scalable, replicable and community-centric model of sustainable development.
While we, with our 100+ strong team and 200+ volunteers at the Adarsh Shiksha Organization , strive hard to find and execute solutions to the multiple challenges Rural India faces, we’d be happier if we don’t achieve our goal alone. We believe in a collaborative model and work with multiple partners which include NGOs, other foundations, the government and corporates. We at the Adarsh Shiksha Organization are committed and raring to go. We aren’t naïve about the task we’ve set but are determined to create communities that will have the ability to contribute substantially to India’s growth story.
We have always dreamt of One India, an India where the Urban-Rural divide doesn’t exist. We hope that you will pledge your support to the Adarsh Shiksha Organization, to our Rural communities. Pledge to support their dreams with the same passion as we pursue our own. Pledge to become a part of their world and welcome them to ours.
Today, we want to leave you with three thoughts
If not now, then when? — If not here, then where? — If not you, then who?
